History
My first and lifelong interest is guns.
My Grade 1 Teacher had me figured out and asked me to draw something on the blackboard that started with the letter "G’".
I asked her if she wanted a bolt action or a lever action.
I grew up in Eastern Canada and moved west for a 26-year career with Calgary Police Service. While there, I did a stint in the tactical unit (SWAT) and in 2001 won the
Commissioner’s Cup for top marksman in the service.
Life near the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains
offered many big game hunting opportunities
and an appreciation of the "mountain rifle".
The prairies also offered lots of varmint shooting.
I have been able to hunt extensively in Alberta, British
Columbia and experienced a Safari in Namibia.
In 2006, I was accepted into the American Custom Gunmakers Guild as a metal smith and in 2017 as a stock maker.
After retirement I was blessed with the opportunity to learn
the gun-making trade at Martini and Hagn.
In 2011, I started Griesbach Custom.
